About WARMSS 2025
Rehearsals
The rehearsals on the first three days of the course will run from 9:45am to 8:30pm with Compline services each evening from 8:30pm. The final day finishes early with our 4:00 pm concert at St. Patrick's Basilica.
Our rehearsal time together will be split into full choir rehearsals, work in smaller consorts, and masterclasses. While we will be constantly learning a substantial amount of new music, we will focus specifically on:
- Ensemble techniques such as intonation, balance and phrasing
- Easy and flowing vocal production free from excess tension
- Scholarly engagement through a practical approach
- Advancing your sight-reading proficiency
Performances
At the conclusion of each day, public church services or performances will showcase the work occurring on the course. These include:
- Two services of Compline in Notre Dame University Chapel
- Choral Evensong at St. John's Anglican Church
- Concert at St Patrick's Basilica, Fremantle
What's included
Alongside the choir and consort rehearsals, the course will include:
- Individual singing lessons
- Open rehearsal / masterclass event with members of The Giovanni Consort
- Vocal physio seminar with specialist Jenny Nash, who has worked extensively with productions in London's West End
